Gravity Zone
The Band - Once upon a time there was a funk band called Gravity Zone and we lived for 2 years. With members from the band Gravity, the project Zone and with a little fresh blood, we formed a band together with the goal of spreading the funk throughout the universe. Members with a common gift; “Let there be funk and the funk will be done!”
The Myth - We had several gigs, but the highpoint must have been when we released our full length debut album “Welcome to Funkopolis”. We played live at a culture festival in Sousse (Tunisia), music festival in Helsingborg (Sweden), festival in Landskrona (Sweden) and had club gigs at Zanzibar, The Tivoli, Jazzklubben, Vinylbaren, Kulturen among others. All of them in Sweden.
The Concept - Though we came from the south of Sweden the natural influences of blues and jazz could not avoid us, so the music was a combination of funk, soul and acid jazz. With the constant dream of the space, planetary elements and shining stars repeatedly flew across the fountain of lyrics and dope sounds.
